About the ICMT 2025 Project

ICMT Project

The Collaborative Information for the Bible Translation Movement Project — ICMT — gathers and organizes strategic data on language groups, translation projects, and Scripture availability in Brazil.

Objective

To support leaders, organizations, missionaries, and mobilizers in understanding the Bible translation landscape and making collaborative decisions.

Principle

Turning data into missionary action.

Primary audience

  • organization leaders;
  • missionaries;
  • mobilizers;
  • researchers;
  • churches and partners.

Organization

The project is related to the collaborative work of the Alliance for Bible Translation — APTB.

APTB was created in 2018 with the mission of strengthening collaboration among organizations involved in the Bible translation movement in Brazil and mobilizing the Brazilian church for this purpose. It promotes the sharing of knowledge, tools, and best practices among member organizations, reducing duplication of effort and expanding the reach of Scripture translation. The Alliance is also part of the international collaboration network of the Wycliffe Global Alliance — WGA —, representing the National Roundtable in Brazil.

The ICMT Project is an initiative of APTB's Data Management Thematic Group, made up of representatives from member organizations who collaborate on collecting, organizing, and providing strategic information about the translation movement in Brazil. This collaborative structure also connects APTB to other fronts, such as the Brazilian Association of Cross-Cultural Missions — AMTB —, of which the Alliance is one of its strategic fronts.

Data updates

ICMT data is updated collaboratively, and new versions may include corrections, revisions, and progress.
